From January 1st until June 30th 2014 Greece hosts the Presidency of the Council of the European Union; an important role for any Member State. For those six months Greece will be at the centre of decision making in Europe, helping to shape policies and drive forward legislation that will impact on the futures of all EU citizens. The main fields of action which will guide the work of the Greek EU Presidency are: Growth, Migration, Integration of the EU and Maritime policies.

The UK is pleased to be working closely with the Greek Government in order to ensure the best possible outcome of the discussions on all the above priorities. We look forward to welcoming to Greece the very many British businesses and NGOs who will attend Presidency events here. And we wish the Greek Government all the best for a successful and fruitful EU Presidency!
