I regret to advise you that my only brother Heracles \u2013 Leonidas Lalangaspassed away last month peacefully at a hospital in Athens at age 82, \u00a0after suffering for about 2 years with dementia\u00a0 ( ania ). He leaves behind his French wife Jacqueline.<\/p>\n
As some of you know, \u00a0he was an economist and worked as financial officer in marine shipping companies in New York City and Monte Carlo.<\/p>\n
He had received two degrees ( Bachelor\u2019s & Master\u2019s ) from the City University of New York.<\/p>\n
He was a unique ideologist and writer, who wrote many articles in newspapers and magazines and two books in Greek in 2007 & \u201908, which were published by<\/p>\n
the University Studio Press of Thessaloniki or Salonica, his birthplace.<\/p>\n
His first book was titled : \u201c Salonica \u2013 One Thousand Three Hundred Days\u201d and was translated into English and published by Vantage Press of New York in 2012.<\/p>\n
The book tells the gripping story of our family, \u00a0during the German occupation in World War II.<\/p>\n
The second book is titled: \u201c The Professor and other stories\u201d, and describes many of Heracles life experiences.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
